At Karrington Kare Rescue, our goal is to match every dog with the perfect forever home. We take pride in ensuring that each adoption is a great fit — for both the dog and the adopter. Because our dogs have already been through so much, we take every precaution to make sure their next home is their last.

Here’s how our adoption process works:

1. Submit an Application – Fill out our adoption application with details about your home, lifestyle, and experience with pets.

2. Application Review & Background Check – We carefully review all applications and conduct background checks to ensure each dog is placed in a safe, responsible home.

3. Meet & Greet – Once approved, we’ll schedule a time for you to meet the dog you’re interested in to make sure it’s the right match. 

4. Home Check – We perform a home visit to confirm your environment is secure, comfortable, and ready for your new furry family member.

5. Adoption Fee & Approval – A non-refundable adoption fee of  helps cover vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, and medical care. Once the fee and paperwork are complete, we finalize the adoption.

6. Welcome Home! – Take your new best friend home with guidance and support from our team to help with the transition.

Adoption Requirements & Rules

To ensure our dogs go to safe, loving, and permanent homes, Karrington Kare Rescue requires the following for all adoptions:

1. Age Requirement – Adopters must be at least 21 years old.

2. Application Approval – All potential adopters must complete an adoption application.

3. Background Check – We conduct background checks to ensure a safe home environment.

4. Home Check – A home visit is required to confirm a secure and suitable environment for the dog.

5. No Unsupervised Outdoor Housing – Dogs must live indoors with access to a secure yard or leash walks; outdoor-only living is not allowed.

6. Agreement to Care for the Dog – Adopters must commit to proper medical care, vaccinations, spay/neuter, training, and responsible pet ownership.

7. Adoption Fee – Payment of the non-refundable adoption fee is required to help cover medical care, vaccinations, and other expenses.

8. Other Pets – Any existing pets in the home must be friendly and up-to-date on vaccinations. A meet-and-greet may be required.

9. Follow-Up – Karrington Kare Rescue may follow up post-adoption to ensure the dog’s well-being.
